Are you a passionate and enthusiastic teaching assistant with experience supporting SEN learners? Long-term futures are proudly working with a unique and inclusive special educational needs and disabilities school based in Swadlincote (DE12).

In this role, you will support learners with varying, complex and evolving needs including autism spectrum disorder, and associated challenging behaviours. You will be promoting positive behaviour and keeping them engaged with their studies.

What does my role involve?

  • You will work alongside the best educators and therapists in their field. Supporting students to develop their communication and independence skills.
  • Assisting with sensory regulation and building social relationships in order for students to safely access learning in different environments, such as their home, classroom or wider community.
  • You will provide tailored support to meet each students individual needs, undertaking additional bespoke training where necessary.

How can I be successful?

  • Ideally you will be experienced in providing classroom support to SEN learners, including autism and/or associated challenging behaviours.
  • You will be someone who is resilient, someone who has a lot of energy and is highly motivated to help their students succeed both personal and academically.
  • You may be required to support with personal care, so being flexible and accommodating around such care would be advantageous.
