About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Special Education Needs (SEN) Teacher to join our supportive and inclusive team at a mainstream secondary school in Swadlincote. This is a part-time position, working 3 days a week, offering the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with a wide range of special educational needs.

You will be responsible for providing tailored teaching, support, and guidance to students with SEN, helping them achieve their full potential. As an experienced SEN Teacher, you will work closely with our SENCo, teachers, and support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of students with SEN.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, adjusting teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with the SENCo and teaching staff to develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and provide support for students.
  • Foster an inclusive, positive, and safe classroom environment that encourages students' personal growth and academic development.
  • Engage with parents and carers to ensure students' needs are met both at school and at home.
  • Support students with diverse learning needs, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other specific learning difficulties.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Proven experience working with students with Special Educational Needs.
  • A strong understanding of SEN legislation and best practices in the classroom.
  • The ability to plan and deliver differentiated lessons to meet the needs of all students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to teaching.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
