We have an excellent opportunity for a Vehicle Technician to work for one of the UK's largest suppliers of multi-brand diagnostic tools for Trucks, Buses, Coaches, Vans, HGVs, Trailers, AGV, OHW & Light commercial vehicles based in their Customer Service and Vehicle Technical Support team in Swadlincote, Derbyshire.

Our client delivers innovative diagnostic products and telephone technical support second to none. Founded in 2005, it is one of the largest suppliers of multi-brand diagnostic tools for Trucks, Trailers, Bus/Coach, Agri, OHW and Cars and is an EOT (employee ownership trust). After 12 months of continuous employment every employee qualifies for an EOT bonus which has no upper limits and benefits from being tax free for the first £3600.

About the role
As a Vehicle Technical Support Advisor, you will support an ever-growing customer base and your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing telephone support to remote support from entry level right the way up to advanced programming queries
  • Assist and develop customers on how to use the diagnostic software and remotely help the customer carry out tasks on live jobs
  • Enhance the level of customer service provided by the whole Customer Service team through the use of effective advice, training and support, primarily relating to technical issues
  • Act as a company ambassador

About you
In the role of Vehicle Technical Support Advisor, you must be / have:

  • An excellent telephone manner
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to multitask, with minimal supervision
  • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure
  • Good level of IT Skills
  • Proven track record of technical competence to understand the products
  • Previous experience in a customer facing role, either as a mobile technician or other
  • Must be able to prove to understand CAN Bus wiring diagrams and systems with the ability to diagnose faults
  • Have relevant accredited vehicle technology technical qualifications, Btec, City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent
