Job Title: Accounts Training and Development SpecialistLocation: SwanseaSalary: Up to £35,000Autograph Recruitment are partnered with a growing, independent accountancy practice based in Swansea who are seeking an Accounts Training & Development Specialist to oversee and manage the training of trainee accountants. This role involves mentoring and guiding up to three trainees at a time ensuring they develop key accounting skills and gain practical experience. When training is not required, the role will involve assisting with accounts preparation and VAT submissions. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide structured training in bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • Teach trainees how to use accounting software packages, primarily Xero, Sage Taxation Suite, and Dext.
  • Guide trainees in producing a complete accounts file.
  • Train individuals to prepare accounts up to the trial balance stage.
  • Provide assistance with the preparation and submission of VAT returns.
  • Ensure trainees gain hands-on experience with real accounting tasks.
  • Assist with accounts and VAT preparation when training is not required.

Requirements

  • Qualified (ACCA, ACA, or equivalent), part-qualified, or QBE (Qualified by Experience).
  • Strong experience in bookkeeping, VAT, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Xero, Sage Taxation Suite, and Dext.
  • Previous experience in training, mentoring, or managing junior accountants is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • A structured and patient approach to training.
