An exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to join a team in a professional services firm, based in Swansea. The role will require a strong focus on financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.

The organisation is a well-established professional services firm within the legal sector, employing over 1,000 individuals. The company has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality services to its clients across various sectors.

Description

  • Prepare and present monthly financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis, and commentaries
  • Assist in the production of the annual budget and periodic forecasting
  • Provide management reporting for decision-making, including project appraisal, post-investment appraisals
  • Implement and maintain financial controls and systems within the business, identifying and recommending potential operational efficiencies and improvements to working practices and procedures
  • Liaise with other function managers to put the finances and accounts in context
  • Manage the audit process, liaising with external auditors
  • Oversee all tax and regulatory/compliance issues
  • Contribute to the financial strategy and decision-making process
  • Manage a small team

Profile

A successful Management Accountant should have:

  • A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to strategise and solve problems
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Experience in system implementation
