Role Overview:
As an Assistant Project Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the financial tracking and reporting for a variety of projects. You will assist in the preparation of project financial statements, monitor project budgets, and ensure compliance with financial policies. Your ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage accounting tasks will contribute to the success of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Accounting Support: Assist in maintaining and tracking the financial aspects of various projects, including managing project budgets, actuals, and forecasts.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial reports for projects, including cost analysis, variance analysis, and budget vs actuals reporting.
- Invoice and Payment Processing: Ensure the timely processing of project-related invoices and payments, verifying accuracy, and ensuring alignment with project budgets.
- Accounting Entries: Perform general accounting duties, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records for projects.
- Cost Control: Monitor project costs, identify discrepancies, and help implement corrective actions to ensure project budgets are adhered to.
- Project Documentation: Maintain proper documentation for all project-related transactions, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Project Managers, Finance, and other departments to ensure project accounting processes run smoothly and efficiently.
- Audit Support: Assist in preparing for internal and external audits by providing necessary financial documentation and reports.
- SAP ERP: Use SAP ERP to track and report on project financials, including entering costs, generating reports, and supporting project-related financial processes.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience: Proven experience in a similar role with a focus on project accounting or financial administration.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in SAP ERP and other accounting software (ERP systems such as Oracle or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing financial data.
- Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while meeting deadlines.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
