Industrial/Automatic Door Engineer

Base Salary: 33,280 - 38,000 (dependent on experience)
Overtime: Paid at 1.5x standard rate, with 2x pay on Sundays and bank holidays
Pension: Standard company pension scheme
Holidays: 25 days plus bank holidays
Working Hours: 40 hours per week plus overtime
Company Vehicle: Van provided for work use only
On-Call Rota: Currently 1 in 3, with potential reduction to 1 in 4 or 1 in 5
Location: Primarily South Wales (Bridgend West), with potential for UK-wide or overseas work
Security Clearance: Must be eligible for government-level security clearance

Job Role & Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Industrial/Automatic Door Engineer to join our clinets team. This role involves installing, servicing, repairing, and attending emergency callouts for a variety of industrial and automatic doors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair industrial doors, automatic doors, roller shutters, sectional doors, high-speed doors, and fire doors
  • Diagnose faults and carry out timely and effective repairs
  • Perform routine servicing while ensuring compliance with safety regulations
  • Attend emergency callouts as per the on-call rota
  • Maintain accurate service records and reports
  • Provide excellent customer service and liaise professionally with clients

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in the installation, servicing, and repair of industrial and/or automatic doors
  • Strong knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred)
  • Ability to obtain security clearance for government projects
