Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare cost estimates for residential projects, including new builds, renovations, and extensions.
- Work closely with project managers and construction teams to ensure estimates align with project goals and timelines.
- Source and review supplier quotes and labor costs to ensure competitive pricing.
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and plans to provide detailed cost breakdowns.
- Provide accurate take-offs and perform site visits to assess potential costs.
- Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure project delivery within budget.
- Monitor ongoing costs throughout the project to provide updates and adjustments to the client or team.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience as a construction estimator, ideally within the residential sector.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and techniques.
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail, time-management, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- A relevant qualification in construction, surveying, or engineering is desirable.
