Are you an experienced Finance Manager looking to take full ownership of the finance function within a niche SME business? We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our team in Swansea, managing all financial processes and reporting directly to the Managing Director.



About the Role

As our Stand-Alone Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and operational efficiency of the company. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a hands-on, end-to-end finance role and is eager to make a real impact. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage cash flow, invoicing, and payment processes to ensure accurate and timely transactions.
  • Credit Control: Monitor customer accounts, implement credit policies, and ensure timely collections to maintain cash flow.
  • Month-End Processes: Perform reconciliations, prepare journals, and generate month-end reports.
  • Financial Reporting: Provide accurate monthly financial statements and analysis to support business decision-making.
  • Financial Oversight: Take responsibility for all financial processes and regulatory compliance, offering insights and recommendations to the MD.


About You

  • This is a role open to candidates with 3+ years experience within an Senior Finance Assistant/Assistant Accountant/Bookkeeping role.
  • Experience in an SME environment is highly desirable.
  • AAT qualified or QBE
  • Experience in managing finance for an SME (highly desirable)


Requirements

  • Proven experience in finance or accounting, ideally within an SME
  • Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and credit control
  • Strong month-end closing and financial reporting skills
  • Ability to work independently and report effectively to senior management
