Teaching Assistant

TeacherActive are proud to be working with a Swansea primary school committed to providing a safe, happy and nurturing environment in which all their children thrive.  The successful candidate will be working with a nursery aged pupil with a hearing impairment and this role will be on a one-to-one basis. The school are looking for a BSL Level One trained Teaching Assistant for five mornings a week starting January 2025.

The successful candidate:

• Will have relevant experience of working with children (minimum of 6 months)
• Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in schools
• BSL Level 1 qualification 
• Will have relevant experience of working with Hearing Impaired pupils and following Individual Development Plans
• Will be required to work under the direction of the class teacher and liaise with other professionals both within and outside the school
• Responsible for working with an individual pupil and appropriately identifying the pupil’s personal, social and academic needs.
• Will be expected to show a high degree of initiative and be able to react to given solutions with integrity and compassion
• Can plan, prepare and promote constructive play during the lunchtime period
