Teaching Assistant - Reception Class (1:1 Support - Teaching Assistant)

A fantastic primary school in the Haringey Borough of North London is seeking a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a young boy in their Reception class. The child requires additional support to manage high emotional needs, and this role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a nurturing school environment.

This Teaching Assistant position is ideal for individuals with EYFS experience, although it is not essential, as the school values a proactive and empathetic approach above all.



Key Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide 1:1 tailored support for a Reception pupil with high emotional needs, helping them build confidence and emotional resilience.
  • Assist with implementing strategies to support emotional regulation and positive engagement in learning activities.

Ideal Candidate for the Teaching Assistant Role:

  • Confidence to adapt quickly, use initiative, and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience supporting children with high emotional needs, Autism, or other additional needs is advantageous.
  • Must hold an Enhanced DBS or be willing to process one through Reeson Education.
