Teaching Assistant

A fantastic primary school in the Haringey Borough of North London is seeking a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a young boy in their Reception class. The child requires additional support to manage high emotional needs, and this role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a nurturing school environment.

This Teaching Assistant position is ideal for individuals with EYFS experience, although it is not essential, as the school values a proactive and empathetic approach above all.

• Provide 1:1 tailored support for a Reception pupil with high emotional needs, helping them build confidence and emotional resilience.
• Assist with implementing strategies to support emotional regulation and positive engagement in learning activities.
• Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SEN team to create a structured and supportive environment.
• Foster a sense of inclusion, encouraging the child to participate in class and social activities.
• Step in to support the wider class where necessary, contributing to a positive learning atmosphere.

• Experience working in an EYFS setting is preferred but not mandatory.
• A calm, nurturing, and patient individual with a passion for supporting children's development.
• Confidence to adapt quickly, use initiative, and work both independently and as part of a team.
• Previous experience supporting children with high emotional needs, Autism, or other additional needs is advantageous.
• Must hold an Enhanced DBS or be willing to process one through Reeson Education.
