A career as a Claims Technician at ERS is both challenging and immensely rewarding. This role offers the opportunity to become a key member of a fast-paced, continually evolving team within the UK’s largest specialist motor insurer.

Responsibilities include carrying out a variety of duties to provide outstanding claims service to customers, such as recording new claims, resolving telephone inquiries, handling correspondence, managing complaints, and authorizing payments. You'll negotiate claim settlements efficiently, fairly, and economically, adhering to policy wording and the Claims Handling Manual, and strive to achieve pre-agreed targets and objectives, continually improving service and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to customer phone calls and correspondence in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner.

  • Establish the circumstances of any loss and conduct appropriate indemnity/liability/fraud inquiries.

  • Negotiate claim settlements efficiently and economically.

  • Maintain accurate claim estimates, making adjustments as necessary.

  • Use approved suppliers where appropriate.

  • Apply all company policies and procedures to ensure service standards meet internal SLA and FCA/PRA requirements.

  • Undertake other reasonable tasks as required by line management.
