We are excited to be working with a leading facilities management company to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial aspects of project delivery. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing team, working on dynamic projects and supporting a government client.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Oversee the commercial control and successful delivery of projects, ensuring adherence to budget and contract conditions.
  • Team Leadership: Support the Commercial Manager and manage a team of Quantity Surveyors, providing guidance and assistance with contract delivery.
  • Tender Review & Risk Management: Review tender documents, identify risks, and assist in the preparation of tenders, schedules, and quotations.
  • Procurement: Manage procurement of sub-contract packages, liaise with sub-contractors, and ensure timely material and specialist requirements.
  • Budget Management: Develop, monitor, and update project budgets, ensuring efficient cost control.
  • Sub-contractor Management: Oversee sub-contractor performance, including measurement, approval of claims, and negotiation of final accounts.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit monthly forecast reports, valuations, and periodic invoices.
  • Variation Management: Manage variations, ensuring all additional works are recorded, and adequate records are maintained for revenue recovery.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Educational Qualifications: HND or Degree Level in Quantity Surveying.
  • Experience: Minimum of experience over 3 years experience in a similar role, ideally within dynamic project environments.
  • Experience in Engineer and Professional Service Contracts: Must have experience in managing Engineer Contracts (ECS) and Professional Service Contracts, ensuring adherence to contract terms and effective management of all associated risks.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of contract law, experience with NEC suite of contracts, advanced Excel proficiency, and proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Commercial Acumen: Strong financial and commercial awareness, with the ability to evaluate tender submissions and produce analytical reports.
  • Client Focus: Excellent customer service skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Desirable Skills:

  • Professional Membership: Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) or willing to work toward membership.

Security Clearance: Successful candidates will need to undergo SC clearance checks as this role involves working with a government client.
