The Company

This Swansea based provider of Safety and Workwear are part of a US owned Worldwide Group supplying Workwear and PPE to customers throughout the UK. They have over 50 years experience servicing Local Authorities, NHS and a wide range of Engineering and Manufacturing clients in Wales and wider contracts throughout the UK. They are currently looking for a new person to join the sales team due to an upcoming retirement.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced sales person with exposure to business development as well as maintaining and growing the existing customer base.

The focus will be on new business in Wales but also supporting opportunities within the group throughout the UK. The office is in Swansea which you will need to visit regularly. The existing customers are predominantly based along the M4 corridor in South Wales.

Duties will include:

  • Selling the full product range which includes corporate wear, work wear with embroidery and printing services, head, hearing, eye and respiratory protection
  • Extensive business development across the entire potential range of business sectors
  • Management of existing accounts to ensure customer retention and further account development
  • Ensuring all client records and relevant record keeping is completed daily
  • Visiting clients and maintaining regular contact with current and potential clients
  • Working towards and achieving sales targets

Requirements

We are looking for an applicant who has previous experience selling a product to the public sector and / or manufacturing industries.

Knowledge of the PPE industry would be ideal but applications are welcomed from sales experience in any of the above sectors.

Both highly experienced sales professionals and those with a minimum of 2-3 years external sales experience to either the public sector or manufacturing are encouraged to apply.

The successful applicant will have the following experience, skills and attributes:

  • Extensive BDM / External Sales Representative experience essential
  • A proven sales track record selling to the public sector or manufacturing
  • The ability to create new opportunities, securing new customers and contracts
  • Strong customer relationship building skills to further develop current contracts
  • To be in viable traveling distance of the Swansea office to be on site as and when required Ability and willingness to develop product knowledge through Product training and technical support which will be provided as required
  • Current UK drivers license
  • A strong sales profile who can work well in a team environment too
  • Reliable and responsible
  • Solid communication skills both verbal and written
