You will be working within the Swansea and Neath Port Talbot in a children's residential settings. Your New Role

  • Supporting children aged 6 - 18 with complex needs in a short breaks service
  • Flexibility to pick up shifts when available and when it suits the service
  • To safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people
  • Adhering to personal care plans which have been drawn up after assessing the needs and goals of the placement
  • Adhering to strict health and safety practices to ensure the wellbeing of the children and young people
  • Building rapport and empowering the children and young people to reach their potential
  • Produce and maintain accurate record keeping in accordance with GDPR
  • Adopting a child-centred approach to provide the best care to children and young people with complex health / emotional needs
  • Carry out elements of personal care if required


What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Child-centred approach to care
  • Positive attitude to care
  • Previous experience within children's social care is essential
  • Full UK driving licence
  • NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care is desirable
  • A form of behavioural management training is essential (E.g. PBM/TeamTeach)
  • Understanding of children's human rights and safeguarding is essential.
  • Experience working within a multi-agency environment is desirable.
  • Self-motivation and determination to grow and succeed together
  • Enhanced DBS check (Update Service DBS' desirable for swifter onboarding)
