Location: South Wales (Hybrid)
Salary: Up to 40,000 p/annum
CPS Group UK are recruiting a Lead Technician to join a leading organisation specialising in information and cyber security training. In this role, you will oversee a team of Operations Technicians, ensuring seamless planning and support for both live and virtual events, including network systems management and technical equipment setup.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct remote and on-site assessments of venue networks and internet infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot any network or internet issues during live events.
- Collaborate with Service Desk, Labs, Cyber Ranges, and Security teams to support IT requirements for participants.
- Assist Operations Technicians with technical queries.
- Provide support to instructors encountering issues with platforms such as Zoom, GoToTraining, or Slack.
- Directly manage and develop the Operations Technicians, with support from the Head of Operations and HR as needed.
- Participate in the hiring and interviewing process for new technical staff.
- Organize and oversee individual and team training sessions.
- Ensure team members stay updated with the latest technology developments, in collaboration with international teams.
- Set and manage team KPIs and objectives.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Hands-on experience with installing and configuring computer networking equipment.
- Previous experience in line management.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in live environments.
- Solid understanding of wired/wireless network concepts, hardware, and best practices.
- Experience with network monitoring and traffic-shaping solutions.
- Knowledge of intelligent routing protocols, IaaS/SaaS, and virtualization.
