Job Purpose
  • Managing a varied client portfolio, working closely with Managers and Partners to ensure deadlines and budgets are being met
  • Planning audit engagements from planning to completion
  • Preparation of tax computations for Limited companies, Sole Traders and Partnerships
  • Supporting Managers and Partners by undertaking ad-hoc projects where required
  • Liaising with HMRC on clients’ behalf, handling queries quickly and effectively
  • Overseeing junior staff, including workflow management, review work, and training
  • Building trusted client relationships as their main point of contact, proactively handling queries
  • Monitoring and interpreting changes in legislation and industry trends

The Successful Applicant
  • ACA / ACCA qualified, part-qualified or currently studying
  • Qualified by at least 3 years’ experience also considered
  • Experience working with charities and not-for-profit companies is desirable, but not essential
  • Good understanding of accounts preparation processes
  • Experience overseeing audits from planning to completion
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, Xero and Sage
  • Strong analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • A hands-on, can-do attitude towards managing your own workload
  • Self-motivated, reliable and eager to progress
  • A drive to deliver technical knowledge as a point of call for the team
  • Confident in reviewing processes and improving systems to boost efficiency
  • Strong communication skills are essential, both verbal and written
  • Commercial business acumen
