Job/firm overview:


LHH is pleased to collaborate with a large independent firm in Exeter that is in search of a dedicated and experienced Audit Senior. The firm prides itself on being employee centric which is advantageous to anyone seeking more of a work life balance.








The role consists of managing audit engagements, overseeing client relationships and junior staff. Planning and executing audits, reviewing work, abiding by compliance, and preparing financial statements. The role also involves assessing risks, communicating with management, and identifying service improvement opportunities.







Responsibilities:


  • Plan, carry out, and finalise audit assignments while supporting the audit manager.
  • Act as first point of contact for the clients.
  • Prepare statutory accounts, corporation tax calculations, and returns for limited companies and groups.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling services.
  • Assist with other compliance tasks, including preparing VAT returns.
  • Prepare accounts for partnerships and sole traders, including drafting income tax calculations.
  • Communicate workload progress to management and plan for efficient task completion.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with both new and existing clients.
  • Train and oversee junior staff members.
  • Prepare management accounts.








Requirements:

  • Competent in audit, accounting and tax software.
  • ACA/ACCA qualification or equivalent.
  • Full clean drivers licence.
  • Able to work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Familiar with accounting software e.g. Sage and Xero
  • Previous use of CCH and Caseware would be an advantage
  • Excel skills - including vlookup, sumif and Pivot Tables
