Progress Coach

Location: New College Swindon, SN3 1AH

Salary: Up to £25,914 per annum FTE (term time only)

As a Progress Coach, you will provide vital pastoral support and mentoring to a diverse caseload of students. You’ll work collaboratively to identify and overcome barriers to success while helping students enhance their social and employability skills.

What you will do as a Progress Coach

  • Support student induction, performance, and progression via tutorials, group sessions, and one-to-one meetings.
  • Monitor and improve attendance and performance in collaboration with curriculum teams.
  • Deliver tutorial activities on employability, safeguarding, equality, and healthy lifestyles.
  • Set measurable goals and track student progress using electronic learning plans.
  • Proactively address challenges, referring students to additional support services as needed.

Qualifications of a Progress Coach:

  • Level 3 qualification in youth work, teaching, or a related field (or willingness to work towards it).
  • Minimum Level 2 literacy and numeracy.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding principles for young people and vulnerable adults.
  • Experience working with young people in education or similar settings.
  • Strong communication, time management, and team collaboration skills.
