Accounts Payable Specialist - Italian Speaking

We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our clients Finance European Shared Service Centre. This role is crucial for managing all accounts payable activities for their Italian operations, ensuring efficient invoice processing and payments, and maintaining strong communication with business partners to avoid payment delays. A deep understanding of Italian financial regulations, including VAT calculations and implications, is essential.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Process invoices accurately and promptly.
  • Ensure timely payment of all intercompany invoices and follow up on outstanding invoices.
  • Handle queries and escalations to ensure invoices are paid on time.
  • Review the generic email inbox multiple times per day to ensure timely responses and reconcile key supplier statements.
  • Manage internal debits/credits necessary for ledger management.
  • Run reports to maintain a clean ledger and investigate aged items.
  • Review weekly payment run files to ensure all key items are addressed.
  • Reconcile bank statements and collaborate with local finance teams.
  • Set up and maintain supplier accounts and verify bank details, ensuring correct payment methods.
  • Perform critical month-end activities including ledger closing, intercompany statement reconciliation, and AP to GL reconciliations.
  • Engage in other activities as required based on business priorities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an international finance/accounts payable role.
  • Business or finance-related degree (2:1 or equivalent preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage supplier accounts and reconciliations.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Robust systems knowledge and proficiency in Excel; experience with Oracle is advantageous.
  • Fluent in Italian, both verbal and written, to manage Italian operations effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
