Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Coach Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of responsibility and excellent driving skills, ensuring the safe and timely transport of passengers. This role requires effective communication and the ability to maintain a positive environment for all passengers while adhering to traffic regulations and company policies.
Duties
- Safely operate a coach, ensuring the comfort and safety of all passengers during transit.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition, including checking mechanical systems and fuel levels.
- Maintain accurate records of routes, passenger counts, and any incidents that occur during transit.
- Communicate effectively with passengers, providing information about routes, schedules, and any delays or changes.
- Assist passengers as needed, including helping those with disabilities or special needs.
- Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of the bus interior and exterior.
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies while driving to ensure safety for all road users.
Requirements
- Valid PSV driving licence with appropriate endorsements for operating a bus / coach.
- Tacho Card
- Strong mechanical knowledge to identify potential issues with the vehicle.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or van driver is advantageous but not essential.
- Ability to maintain a calm demeanour under pressure and handle challenging situations effectively.
- A commitment to providing excellent customer service and maintaining a positive attitude at all times.
Ideal Candidate
- You will be an experienced coach driver
- Will reside within a 15 mile radius of Swindon
- You will have a good geographical knowledge of the UK
