Full job description

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Business Analyst join our team. The Business Analyst will be responsible for understanding, gathering and documenting business requirements, analysing business processes, understanding the supporting data architecture, and creating detailed documentation to support organisational objectives. This role demands a proactive approach to understanding business needs, technical enablement needs, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Requirements Gathering:

  • Engage with business stakeholders to gather detailed and accurate requirements.
  • Conduct interviews, surveys, and workshops to elicit requirements.
  • Document business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, and use cases.
  • Ensure requirements are comprehensive, clear, and aligned with business goals.

Documentation:

  • Analyse and document current business processes and workflows.
  • Create process maps, flowcharts, and swimlane diagrams to represent business processes visually.
  • Identify inefficiencies and gap analysis for areas for improvement within existing processes.
  • Define the data mapping, detailing how data flows through different systems, including sources, transformations, and destinations.
  • Define the Data Dictionary with comprehensive definitions and descriptions of data elements, including their formats, meanings, and relationships.
  • Propose optimised processes and workflows to enhance business operations.

Process Support:

  • Help to institute new ways of working around CI/CD and DevOps.
  • Play a role in defining a hybrid SDLC that is appropriate and achievable.
  • Bring experience of ITIL, ITSM, TOGAF, RCA, CBA, Value Stream and SWOT (amongst others) to bear.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Ensure all documentation is clear, concise, and comprehensible to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and presentations to gather information, validate requirements and disseminate information.
  • Acting as a product owner, work closely with the Dev teams to ensure apps are built in line with expectation
  • Collaborate with test teams to ensure test cases are in-line with requirements traceability

Analytical Support:

  • Conduct gap analysis to identify discrepancies between current and desired states.
  • Perform impact analysis of proposed changes on existing processes and systems.
  • Support the development of business cases and feasibility studies.

Documentation Management:

  • Develop and maintain documentation standards and best practices.
  • Organise and store documentation in a systematic and accessible manner.
  • Regularly review and update documentation to ensure accuracy and relevance.

The Candidate:

  • A highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a passion for data analytics and a strong interest in IT. Dedicated to continuous learning and professional development.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a strong focus on requirements gathering and process documentation.
  • Proven experience in conducting requirements gathering sessions and documenting business processes.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in documentation and process mapping tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, and other relevant software.
  • Ability to create detailed, clear, and concise documentation.
  • Familiarity with business process modelling techniques and methodologies.

Certifications:

  • Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) is preferred but not required.
