Dovetail and Slate are recruiting on behalf of a leading education provider based in Swindon.

The successful candidate must be able to start ASAP!

Role Purpose

  • Lead and support Health and Safety Officers, ensuring compliance with all Health and Safety laws and standards.
  • Oversee risk assessments, accident investigations, and first aid provisions to maintain a safe and compliant environment.
  • Regularly inspect facilities, manage Health and Safety systems, and provide guidance to ensure best practices across all departments.

Main Duties

  • To carry out Health and Safety risk assessments where required. e.g., Fire Risk Assessment, COSHH Assessments, Health and Safety risk assessments
  • To provide guidance and support to all departments to ensure compliance with Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Assist in ensuring all departments have suitable, up to date and sufficient risk assessments in place and that these are adhered to.
  • Ensure the appropriate first aid provisions are in place and co-ordinate the first aid courses for their area including communications with the license company.
  • Undertake inspections of buildings and produce reports detailing required actions and ensure follow up actions are undertaken
  • Ensure the Groups Health and Safety management systems are maintained and up to date and prepare reports as required.
  • To investigate accidents or incidents that occur and report findings to the Head of Health and Safety
  • Manage and maintain central Health and Safety training records.
  • Take a leading role in emergency evacuations where required.

Requirements

  • NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent
  • Relevant experience
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, processes, risk assessments etc
  • Able to start ASAP
  • Full driving license and car
  • No previous convictions
