We are seeking a dedicated Science Technician to support the science department in a vibrant and forward-thinking secondary school in Swindon.
The Role:As a Science Technician, you will:
- Prepare, maintain, and organise lab equipment, chemicals, and resources for science lessons.
- Assist teachers and students during practical experiments across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
- Ensure all experiments are carried out safely, following health & safety regulations and COSHH guidelines.
- Manage stock levels, order materials, and safely dispose of hazardous waste.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Support the development of engaging and innovative practical science lessons.
- Previous experience in a laboratory, school, or similar environment.
- A strong understanding of scientific principles and health & safety regulations.
- Ability to handle and store chemicals safely, following COSHH procedures.
- Organised, proactive, and enthusiastic about supporting students' learning.
- A science-related qualification or experience in a scientific field is desirable.
