1:1 Teaching Assistant / Special Needs Support Assistant - SN4

Are you passionate about making a real difference in a child's life? My client is looking for a dedicated and patient 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide focused support for a pupil with special needs. This is a rewarding temporary role where you will play a key part in a child’s educational journey, ensuring they can fully engage in learning while building their social and emotional skills. This role will be working for 25 hours per week across Monday to Friday and will be on a fixed-term contract supporting maternity cover.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting a pupil 1:1, focusing on engagement and managing challenging behaviors
  • Assisting with literacy, numeracy, and ICT tasks to help the pupil access the curriculum
  • Creating tailored activities that align with the pupil's specific needs and current topics
  • Collaborating with the SENCO, teachers, and external professionals to adapt strategies for success
  • Promoting the pupil’s social, emotional, and academic development in the classroom and beyond

About You

  • Be able to do the job as described.
  • Experienced in working with children with social/communication needs or learning difficulties
  • Patient, calm, and dedicated to forming a strong rapport with the pupil you support
  • Confident in handling challenging behaviors and fostering a positive learning environment
  • Enthusiastic about working as part of a team to create a nurturing, inclusive environment
