We are seeking a dedicated School Caretaker to join a thriving secondary school in Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in maintaining school facilities to a high standard.

The Role:

As a School Caretaker, you will:

  • Ensure the school premises are safe, clean, and well-maintained at all times.
  • Carry out minor repairs, maintenance, and general DIY tasks.
  • Oversee security, including opening and locking up the school buildings.
  • Monitor and maintain heating, lighting, and alarm systems.
  • Carry out regular health & safety checks and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Support with setting up rooms and spaces for school events.
  • Liaise with contractors and external maintenance teams when needed.
About You:
  • Previous experience in a caretaker, site manager, or maintenance role is desirable.
  • Good practical skills in maintenance, DIY, and basic repairs.
  • Knowledge of health & safety regulations and procedures.
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks.
  • A positive and professional approach to supporting the school community.
