Job Title: Mobile UPS Electrical Service Engineer
This global client specialises in the provision of reliable and efficient Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) solutions to UK-wide clients. With a local site based in Wiltshire, this position does require UK travel (Ireland, Wales, England, and Scotland) to and from client sites, assessing issues with power outages, power interruptions, and general electrical power supply. A flexible approach is critical as the position will require overnight stays and lengthy travel times, covering out-of-hours requirements for emergencies.
You will be a qualified and skilled Mobile UPS Electrical Service Engineer with a minimum of 3 years of previous, relevant experience.
Job Description:Â We seek a highly motivated and experienced Mobile UPS Electrical Service Engineer with responsibility for the installation, maintenance, and repair of UPS systems. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform installation, commissioning, and maintenance of UPS systems at client sites.
- Diagnose and repair faults in UPS systems, ensuring minimal downtime for clients.
- Complete all 3 Phase installs and PM’s
- Troubleshoot and evaluate returned manufactured and distributed products and electronic circuitry at the client plant/site and remote locations
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance of UPS systems.
- Offer telephone technical support to clients and issue return authorisation for parts and services
- Provide technical support and training to clients on the operation and maintenance of UPS systems.
- Maintain accurate records of service visits, including detailed reports on work performed and parts used.
- Respond promptly to emergency service calls and provide timely resolutions.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends and advancements in UPS technology.
Qualifications:
- Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or similar
- 18 th Edition Wiring Regulations
- C&G 2391-50 Level 3 in Initial Verification
- PCB and soldering skills
- Able to use a Forklift Truck and Pallet Trucks
- Proven experience in servicing and maintaining UPS systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical principles and UPS technology.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours.
- Valid UK driver's license.
