We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance / Production Operativeto join a small, efficient team in the Swindon area.

About the Role:

  • Working hours are Monday Thursday, 7.30am-5pm & Friday 7.30am-2pm
  • Salary is £35-40K, depending on experience

Duties & Responsibilities:

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct regular maintenance inspections and planned preventative maintenance (PPM's) to ensure machines are running optimally
  • Respond to machine and equipment breakdowns - Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to ensure minimal production downtime
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and procedures
  • You will work on a variety of machinery
  • Fault finding, both electrical and mechanical
  • Where breakdowns occur, review the situation, look to analyse the cause, plan / action the repair to minimise downtime, monitor and report actions taken
  • In addition to the above you will be expected to assist with their production / operation, so expect to be hands-on.

Experience / Skills Required:

  • You will be experieced in mechanical maintenance including motors, drives, gearboxes etc with understanding of hydrualics and pneumatics
  • Proven experience of maintaining / repairing / troubleshooting mechanical machinery
  • Ability to operate machinery and technical equipment
  • In-depth knowledge of system maintenance
  • Ability to lift and move equipment
  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulations
  • Previous experience working in a similar environment
