Corporate Events Manager

We are pleased to be working with a fantastic Swindon based client who is looking for an experienced Event Manager!  The person will be passionate about creating and managing innovative events. This role involves managing your own events across the UK, ensuring operational excellence and achieving set margins. 

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Compile and present proposals to clients.
  • Manage bookings from initial enquiry through budgeting, proposal creation, presentation, and accounting.
  • Conceive innovative and creative events tailored to client needs.
  • Present plans and proposals to clients and manage individual event budgets.
  • Support events on-site, which includes regular time away from home and overnight stays.
  • Attend trade events to promote the company.
  • Liaise with suppliers and Destination Management Companies
  • Handle invoicing and general administration tasks.
  • Attend a minimum of two client events per year, which may occur out of office hours.
  • Participate in 4 Keeping in Touch (KIT) days per year with clients to maintain and strengthen relationships.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Ideally 2 years’ experience in a client/agency role within the events division.
  • Proven experience in managing and successfully completing your own events from brief to post-event, including on-site experience.
  • Experience managing events with a budget of £250,000.
  • Strong understanding of group and event dynamics, both operational and financial.
  • Excellent negotiating skills and supplier knowledge.
  • Extensive knowledge of venues and destinations worldwide.
  • Proficiency in PC use, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet targets.
