The Finance Manager will supervise the accounts and payroll staff, ensuring accurate financial data entry, providing support, and maintaining oversight of the company's finances across all departments. Key responsibilities include preparing management accounts, handling VAT returns, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, and managing both personnel and financial risk strategies

Description

  • Supervise accounts and payroll staff, ensuring accurate financial data entry.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and year-end financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with VAT returns, Construction Industry Scheme (CIS), and other regulations.
  • Manage fixed asset registers and account reconciliations.
  • Authorise employee expenses and oversee payroll-related processes.
  • Ensure the integrity of accounting systems and compliance with financial legislation.
  • Work closely with the Finance Director and assist with risk management

Profile

The successful Finance Manager should have:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
  • Holds an accounting qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with financial applications.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • High attention to detail, integrity, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in the construction or house building industry is a plus
