The Role: I am recruiting an experienced Paraplanner to join the team at Lexington Wealth Management, an awarding winning, independent, Accredited Financial Planning firm based in the Wiltshire countryside (SN5). Working in a small, collaborative and client focused team youwill assist with the delivery of an exceptional financial advice and wealth management service to a select number of private clients. You will have the opportunity to input and take initiatives that develop the Paraplanning department, enhancing both your role and the client experience as well as making a significant and valued impact on the business. You will also have the opportunity to progress and will be supported with studying for professional exams if you choose to do so.

The successful Paraplanner will be Diploma qualified (Dip PFS) and will be involved in client meetings alongside the Chartered Financial Planner from the outset. You will be responsible for technical research, cash flow modelling, report writing, producing recommendations and supporting with the building and implementation of the financial planning solutions required to meet a variety of clients’ needs and personal goals.

Salary and Benefits: £45-55,000 (dependant on experience) plus an exceptional benefits package including flexible/hybrid working + 27 days holiday (23 days + birthday + 3 days Christmas Close) + 8 days bank holiday + generous pension (9% employer’s contribution) + 4x salary death in service + training and continued professional development. This is a full-time role, but we are happy to offer flexible working hours and hybrid working (2 days home working) for the right candidate.

Paraplanner, responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with the team to deliver a highly personalised holistic financial planning service.
  • Prepare for client meetings and reviews, work to understand the client’s financial situation and use cash flow modelling to prepare and write financial plans and post meeting reports.
  • Develop relationships with clients, attending client meetings alongside the Chartered Wealth Manager / Financial Planners.
  • Undertake technical research and financial analysis to support the Financial Planners in identifying suitable solutions for the client.
  • Analyse portfolios, benchmarking, rebalancing and on-going portfolio maintenance.
  • Work with the administrative support team to ensure recommendations are implemented and the highest level of client service is delivered.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of developments in the financial planning industry and contribute to development of best practice within the team.

Paraplanner, Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of Paraplanning in a Financial Planning or Financial Advice environment.
  • Diploma qualified (Dip PFS), or close to being Diploma qualified.
  • A strong technology and mathematical aptitude.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Highly organised and methodical, with excellent attention to detail.
  • A strong relationship builder and collaborative team player with a customer centric approach.
  • Keen to learn, with the opportunity to progress towards becoming become Chartered if you choose to do so (financial support will be provided).
