Experienced ARC and TIG Welder required for a well-established manufacturer based in Swindon. This is an additional full-time permanent position joining an experienced team of welders working with aluminium, stainless steel and other precious metals. Working Monday – Friday on a rotating AM/PM shift, the salary offered is £41,500 (inclusive of shift allowance) and is dependent on your level of TIG welding expertise.

Your responsibilities the setting and operation of TIG welding equipment, component welding using manual and CNC equipment, and raising of high-temperature metals whilst working with a diverse range of sub-assemblies.

As an experienced ARC and TIG welder, naturally, there is a need to read, understand and work to a range of tolerances. With an advanced appreciation of engineering drawings, schematics and symbols. The use of high-performance measurement equipment is an essential requirement, for completing additional tasks including fettling, deburring, polishing and inspection.

This client seeks a minimum of 3 – 5 years of previous TIG welding experience, someone who can communicate well at all levels, with previous quality management systems experience with an acute awareness of environmental impacts regarding wastage and recycling.

You are expected to log and process all production operations onto the in-house system, working closely with production management, quality management and other senior managers across the operation.

Full training will be provided by the in-house skilled welding team; however, successful candidates will be required to complete a welding bench test as part of the selection process.
