We are looking for someone to work within an educational trust as a Short Breaks Co-ordinator.

This role works with a provider of afterschool and weekend respite for SEN children.

This is a fixed Term contract until 31 March 2024

All year round with the hours of :

Mon – Wed 10.00 – 18.15

Thurs 10.30 – 18.15

Friday day off

Sun (on call for Sat too though, where a rota with other team members can be discussed) 09.30 – 16.30

Salary £32.311 - £36,244 Pro rata

The role 

  • Designated Safeguarding Lead for Short Breaks, lead and manage Safeguarding and administration staff.
  • Oversee delivery of a safe, compliant and enriching experience for C&YPs with SEND who access Short Breaks.
  • Oversee and quality assure planning and delivery of activities and opportunities aligned to regulatory body requirements at Short Breaks.
  • Promote equality of opportunity regardless of gender, social, cultural, linguistic, religious or ethnic background through a range of activities.
  • To be present on site at all times when Short Breaks sessions are running (apart from Saturday sessions, at which time there may be the requirement to be on call).
  • To be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of all sessions.
  • To drive the minibus where required.
  • To provide and arrange the logistics of transport for C&YP.
  • Lead on invoicing and supply relevant data to finance.
  • Responsible for the assessment and placement of C&YPs into Short Breaks; liaising with children, young people, parents, carers and external agencies to identify appropriate offer.
  • Ensuring placement information for C&YP is accurate and up to date and stored in accordance with GDPR policy and practice.

Essential requirements:

  • Level 3 H&S Care, Childcare or similar
  • Undertake mandatory Safeguarding training
  • Experience of working with CYPs with SEND in an education or care setting
  • Be highly motivated, efficient and effective at managing a team of childcare professionals
  • Strong ICT Skills
  • Ability to make and communicate decisions
  • Experience of managing a team including the ability to motivate
