We are currently looking to hire a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our supportive community at a highly developed SEN school in Swindon. If you're interested in supporting students with severe or multiple learning disabilities, this is a great opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children.

PMLD Teaching Assistant Responsbilites:

  • Work with teachers to provide high quality learning to pupils
  • Encourage pupil's independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
  • Support pupils, individually or in groups, so they can experience a sense of achievement
  • Assist with planning, preparation and resourcing for lessons
  • Facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities
  • Effectively manage behaviour using strategies consistently in line with the school's policy and procedures
  • Organise and manage teaching space and resources to help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment

We are looking for in our next PMLD Teaching Assistant:

  • Applicable experience working with students with PMLD in an educational setting.
  • A positive, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting young people with complex needs
  • A good understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and safeguarding guidelines
  • Relevant qualifications, professional or personal experience
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a passion for creating an inclusive learning environment.
