We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and thriving educational Primary team in Swindon. This role is perfect for someone who is patient, empathetic, and driven to help children overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students with SEMH needs in a classroom and one-on-one setting
  • Work closely with teaching staff to develop tailored learning plans
  • Promote emotional and social development through structured support
  • Help manage classroom behavior and support pupils in regulating their emotions
  • Provide pastoral care, ensuring a nurturing and safe environment for all students
What Were Looking For:
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or special educational needs (SEN)
  • A compassionate, resilient, and adaptable nature
  • The ability to form strong, positive relationships with students and staff
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment
Desirable:
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
  • Experience in de-escalation techniques or positive behavior management strategies
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies
