The Role
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to work in mainstream and special schools across Swindon. This role involves supporting students 1:1, in small groups, or within the classroom, helping them to engage with learning and develop key skills.

Whether you are experienced or looking to gain hands-on experience in education, this role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in young people's lives.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom support to students with a range of learning needs.
  • Assist teachers with lesson delivery, planning, and resource preparation.
  • Support students with SEND, SEMH, or additional learning needs on a 1:1 or small group basis.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, and other school staff.


Essential Criteria

  • Experience working with children in an educational, childcare, or support role.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with students who need additional support.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to different school settings.


Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working with SEND, SEMH, Autism, or challenging behaviour.
  • Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant training.

Vetting: Five Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all the staff we employ to share this commitment. Successful applicants will be required to undergo checks including reference checks and TRA checks. Applicants who do not have a non-voluntary enhanced DBS on the update service will need to process a new one at a cost of £62.70. This will be refunded after 20 days of work and the DBS has been registered on the update service.
