Our client is offering an exciting opportunity for an IT 2nd Line Engineer to join their team based in Swindon. This is a full-time, permanent position, offering a competitive salary of £31,000 - £37,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with a range of excellent benefits.

About the Role:
As an IT 2nd Line Engineer, you will report to the IT Operations Manager and work with an office-based team, acting as the first point of contact for the IT user community. Your role will focus on delivering excellent IT support services, resolving IT-related issues, and ensuring service excellence across the organisation. A key part of your role will be learning, growing, and sharing knowledge with the team to continuously improve service quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, troubleshoot, and resolve end-user computing issues using established troubleshooting methodologies.
- Help develop processes that align with ITIL disciplines.
- Travel to company sites as needed to provide extended IT services beyond the office environment.
- Ensure all work carried out is recorded in the in-house systems, ensuring accurate attribution and performance tracking.
- Maintain technical competence, identifying any training needs, and assist in training team members to enhance overall knowledge and service levels.
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
- Operating Systems: Windows Desktop 10 / 11, Windows Server 2016+.
- Software: Virtual appliances, SQL Server, Microsoft Intune, Defender, and 365.
- Networking: LAN, vLAN, WAN, switches, routers, etc.
- Cloud Services: Azure, Email, Office 365, and third-party cloud services.
- Directory Services: Active Directory, Hybrid Azure on-premises.
Other Requirements:
- A valid driving licence and own transport are essential.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex issues.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
Please note, this is an office-based role in Swindon with occasional travel to sites across Wiltshire and surrounding areas. It is not a hybrid position.
