Job Title: IT 2nd Line Engineer

Location: Swindon

Salary: £31,000.00 - £37,000.00 per annum (depending on experience)

Omega is seeking an IT 2nd Line Engineer to join our Swindon-based Client. Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, you will be the first point of contact for IT-related issues, focusing on delivering top-tier support services to our user community. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn, grow, and contribute to a team committed to service excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve end-user computing issues using known methodologies.
  • Contribute to process development in line with ITIL disciplines.
  • Travel to company sites as needed to extend support beyond office-based services.
  • Accurately document work in internal systems to track service performance.
  • Maintain technical knowledge, address training needs, and help train other team members.

Technical Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Windows Desktop 10/11 and Windows Server 2016+.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune, Defender & 365, SQL Server, and virtual appliances.
  • Networking skills (LAN, vLAN, WAN, Switches, Routers).
  • Familiarity with Cloud services such as Azure and Office 365.
  • Experience with Active Directory (Hybrid Azure on-prem).

Other Requirements:

  • Full driving licence and access to own transport.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information.
  • High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
