PSR Solutions are currently recruiting for a Sub Agent in the Swindon/Wiltshire/Bristol area. This will be working for a Tier 1 Contractor on Railway and Civils Packages on a long term basis. They will be looking to equip someone with a strong background in Engineering, Sub Contractor Management and Rail/Civils Project experience.

Responsibilities:

Information and knowledge management:

  • Understanding and implementation of BIM and BIM Level 2 processes including; the value, benefits and investment, supporting documentation and standards and the barriers of implementation.
  • Carries out basic research to identify engineering systems.
  • Takes a holistic approach to appraising options considering project wide impacts and opportunities for improvement throughout the project.
  • Delivers work beyond customer expectation.
  • Evaluates success of completed work and proposes improvements.
  • Challenges provided information and the principles behind it to make sure all is up to standard.
  • Anticipates problems and proactively resolves them when need be.
  • Engages with consultants and manages the development of engineering solutions and designs.
  • Takes the lead in resolving engineering and logistical problems.
  • Makes decisions based on engineering judgement and with knowledge of the full range of impacts.
  • Understands the critical path and plans works around it.

Health, Saftey & Environmental:

  • Manage subcontractors and suppliers to construct the works safely at all times.
  • Ensure that risk assessments and method statements are maintained throughout the duration of the project.

Project Management:

  • Familiar with the project life-cycle and able to contribute effectively at each stage of the project. I.E Develop construction methodology.
  • Fully aware of the resource required to effectively complete a section of the package.
  • Manage site activities to ensure that the project is kept to the target.
  • Knowledge of Employment Legislation.
  • Knowledge of Industrial Relations.
  • Takes the lead in all engineering matters related to their section of works/package.
  • Will clearly and effectively delegate works amongst the engineering team to suit capability and will continue to monitor this throughout the project.
  • Knowledge of Public Meetings.

Financial Management:

  • Effectively manages site reporting such as record sheets, site instructions, timesheets etc.
  • Capable of putting together cost estimates for sections of the work.,

Person Specification:

  • Civil Engineering Degree
