We are excited to be representing our client in looking for a Despatch Operative to join their growing team. Assisting the Despatch Team Leader, this is the ideal role for a candidate that has previous all round experience in a busy warehouse operation, and can ensure the efficient daily operation of the despatch area.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To assist the T/L to perform and prioritise the picking, packing and despatch of goods to customers.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant Export Compliance information.
  • Communicate effectively with Sales on queries for customer orders and resolve queries.
  • Liaising with other team leaders and staff members of the warehouse to coordinate workloads (while T/L is on leave).
  • Ensure that FIFO and batch traceability rules are adhered to.
  • Monitoring all aspects of 5S that relates to Despatch and Picking areas and recommending improvements as required.
  • Daily upkeep of Despatch KPI’s.
  • Join the daily Team Leader huddle (while T/L is on leave).
  • Training and coaching of staff.
  • Looking to continually improve processes and drive efficiencies within the warehouse.
  • Picking.
  • Packing.
  • Use of Microsoft packages, DHL, UPS, FedEx/TNT & Openda.
  • Any other duties as requested by Management.

The Person:

  • Strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
  • High level of numeracy and literacy.
  • Previous experience of working with a complex picking system and working to picking quotas
  • Previous experience in a despatch environment.
  • PC literate - use of Microsoft packages - Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience of Wave Picker and other pick assisting vehicles.
