We are seeking ahighly skilled and experienced Fleet Category Manager to join our dynamicprocurement team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing thefleet category, including the acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of companyvehicles. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skillsand a deep understanding of fleet management best practices.We are partnered witha Not-for-Profit organisation who are looking to recruit a Fleet CategoryManager into their dynamic Procurement team (c. 25 people). You will beresponsible for managing the fleet category, which includes sourcing andmaintenance of commercial vehicles, leasing and licensing. This role is abrownfield role, in which you'll champion the implementation of categorymanagement for this area. With that in mind, you will need to have provenexperience in Fleet procurement.Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement category strategies for fleet management to optimise costs, improve service levels, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers and service providers.
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure supplier performance meets company standards.
  • Oversee the acquisition of new vehicles, leasing and the disposal of old ones, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with company needs.
  • Develop and manage the fleet budget, monitor expenditures, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Track and analyse supplier performance metrics through KPIs and regular performance reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies, as well as managing and mitigating risk associated with contracts.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including operations, finance, and HR, to understand their needs and ensure the fleet strategy supports overall business objectives.
  • Work with the Head of Procurement and wider team to implement procurement strategy and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • CIPS / MCIPS qualified or proven experience in the field
  • In-depth knowledge of the fleet category best practices, supplier management, and relevant regulations.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and category management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office & e-sourcing tools
