A rare opportunity to become a deputy warehouse manager has arisen in the Swindon area. The role is permanent from day one working Monday to Friday day hours 08.30-16.30pm (40 hours per week) Salary £30,000 - £33,000 per annum You must have previous warehouse management experience. Key Activities

CustomerBe the main contact for Internal Support TeamAttends Roll Out Meetings to ensure Roll outs are delivered on time and within requirementsAttends Team meetings in warehouse managers absence

AdministrationEnsures warehouse operates within a safe working environmentMaintains company Health & Safety StandardsEstablishes and maintains a high standard of good housekeeping

PeopleTrains & develops an efficient warehouse teamAllocates daily workloadMaintain up to date knowledge of products and materials.Effectively operate company systems and procedures.

Stock Control* Plans & conducts Biannual stock check of equipment and Perpetual Inventory cycle counting as required* Ensures accuracy of equipment on hand stock levels* Audit systems, process and procedures to ensure accuracy and visibility of inventory records with physical stock handling.* Apply corrective actions as and when appropriate.* Manage and maintain the company's material and stocked product including stock profiles and stock locations* Ensure availability of inventory for picking when required. Ensure all transactions are performed accurately and in a timely manner.* Ensure subcontract/assembly process are accurately recorded in and out of stock and providers are expedited when necessary.* Provide routine management information and generally contribute to the warehouse management team to encourage and enable good and efficient practice to prevail which is appropriate to the efficient running of the warehouse and appropriate to the overall business aims and objectives.

Requirements

* 5 GCSE grades A/B or O Levels, including English and Maths * 3 years previous experience in logistical or distribution in man management roles* Professional qualification and/or suitable background experience in warehouse management or inventory management.* Familiarity with Microsoft packages* Ability to fully utilise warehouse space to achieve maximum stockholding* Good knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and process.* Good verbal and written communication skills for a demanding and customer focused working environment.* Excellent personal organisation and up to date business administration skills in accordance with current best practice.* Able to work productively, efficiently with initiative and drive under tight timescales and pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality.* Good inter personnel skills and proven experience in developing, motivating and managing warehouse operatives.* Willingness to learn, improve and adapt.
