Group Transport & Trade Compliance Manager SwindonUp to £50,000 per annum DOE

You'll be the go-to expert for all things transport and trade compliance - ensuring the movement of goods is efficient, compliant, and aligned with global standards. Reporting at a senior level, you'll oversee transport operations and trade compliance strategies while managing risk, supporting global trade initiatives, and ensuring adherence to regulations, especially those under US Trade Compliance laws.

What will the role involve?

  • Lead and optimise UK and international transport operations, ensuring efficiency and cost control
  • Oversee global trade compliance processes, including customs documentation, export/import controls, and regulatory adherence
  • Ensure compliance with UK, EU, and particularly US Trade Compliance regulations (EAR, ITAR, OFAC, etc.)
  • Develop and implement trade compliance policies and training programmes across the group
  • Manage key relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and regulatory bodies
  • Monitor and assess regulatory changes, updating internal processes as needed
  • Collaborate with supply chain, legal, procurement and commercial teams to align business goals with compliance and logistics performanceDrive continuous improvement across transport and compliance operations

What will you ideally bring to the role?

  • Proven experience in transport/logistics management with global scopeStrong knowledge of international trade compliance, with a deep understanding of US Trade Compliance regulations
  • Experience leading multi-site or group-level operations
  • Excellent knowledge of customs procedures, import/export classifications, and documentation requirements
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across senior leadership
  • Hands-on and proactive approach to solving challenges and improving processes Relevant certifications (e.g. IATA, CILT, Customs Compliance, or similar) are desirable
