Join a well-established organisation in the retail industry as a Procurement Manager. This role is crucial in promoting Group Procurement to deliver high standards by consulting and influencing both internally and externally. You will be part of the Group Procurement Indirect team, responsible for purchasing Goods Not For Resale (GNFR) and Services, reporting to a Senior Procurement Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Rationalise and develop the supplier base, incorporating UK, European, and International sourcing strategies.
  • Manage categories both tactically and strategically to optimise total value.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure procurement goals and targets are understood and achieved.
  • Handle the end-to-end tender process (RFI/RFP), including stakeholder business requirements and relevant measurement criteria (KPIs and SLAs).
  • Lead contract negotiations and manage relationships with suppliers during the contracting process.
  • Support continuous improvement processes within the team and with stakeholders.
  • Manage small to medium size projects and support negotiations for large and complex contracts.
  • Assist in the regular contract review and renewal process.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of procurement experience with similar responsibilities.
  • Strong commercial acumen with proven negotiation skills and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to establish and influence strong working relationships at all levels.
  • Experience in indirect category management for both Goods and Services.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Contract Law and contract drafting experience preferred,
  • CIPS qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
