Location: Swindon / Avonmouth (on-site)Salary: £50,000 - £60,000About the Role:We are currently partnered with a leading distribution company, who are looking for an experienced Transport Manager to support them on a wide-scale retail contract. This role involves managing a fleet of 50 vehicles and 70 drivers, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, including CPC and O' Licence.Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a large, modern fleet for a high value retail contract
  • Oversee transport operations for a 1.5 million square foot distribution centre.
  • Ensure high standards of service and efficiency.
  • Ensuring O'Licence compliance in all areas of operation
  • Providing a high level of accuracy in all information presented
  • Managing and working closely with an existing team
  • Overlooking all aspects of maintenance, ensuring the vehicles are compliant and well presented
  • Carrying out driver training where required
  • Focusing on ensuring we retain our high levels of service to customers
  • Communicating with staff and customers
  • Develop and implement transportation strategies and policies to optimise efficiency and reduce costs

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Current Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
  • Valid O' License.
  • Proven experience of managing large transport fleets.
  • A confident and skilled communicator up to senior management level
  • A general mechanical understanding of fleet vehicles
