Job Title:        Assistant Production Controller

Location:   Swindon

Salary:  24,500 - 25,500 (pro rata)

Reports To:    Senior Inventory Controller

Hours: 37.5  hours/week Monday to Friday (flexible on start time)

Job Purpose:

The prime function of the Assistant Production Controller is to support the Production Controller in the management of all aspects of the company’s production activity and to support the company’s sales order demand and stock policies, through creating and managing Works orders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Planning and scheduling of stock rework to support demand
  • Creation and issue of works orders
  • Management of quarantined stock to refresh and return to saleable stock
  • Support the Inventory Team and work with other departments to ensure the availability of products to achieve on-time and in full delivery of customer orders.
  • Liaising with the warehouse staff to ensure stock rotation is carried out based on shelf-life constraints and stock rotation principles (FIFO)
  • Stock Management and purchase of labels and associated ancillary battery parts
  • Negotiation with suppliers to gain the best prices and lead times
  • Order placement on materials suppliers based on forecast and lead time requirements
  • System housekeeping concerning BOM, drawing issues, and engineering changes

Requirements:

  • Self-Motivated, a lateral thinker, and able to work under pressure
  • Have drive and enthusiasm, be self-confident and a good team player
  • Ability to absorb customer detail, product, and price information
  • Computer literate using Microsoft Office and associated business software
  • Numerate, with a sound knowledge of trend analysis
  • Articulate, with a good telephone manner
  • Have an excellent work ethic and good business acumen

Experience and Qualifications:

  • A qualification in materials planning or equivalent would be an advantage.
  • Have a sound working knowledge of materials management and planning, and be competent in using spreadsheets, MRP, and MPS.
