A well-established Building and Civil Engineering Contractor, operating across the UK, is looking to recruit an experienced Site Supervisor with a focus on civils and groundworks to join their Construction Division.
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will likely have experience in engineering or a solid understanding of engineering principles. A strong history of successfully delivering mid to large-scale projects, with a focus on safety, quality, adherence to timelines, and budget management, is essential.
Typical duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the management of external works, with particular attention to coordinating and overseeing on-site activities. This includes ensuring the quality assurance process is followed and maintaining regular communication with clients or end users.
- Supervising and directing daily operations of staff and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with established procedures and health and safety standards.
- Managing material requests to ensure timely procurement and delivery, keeping project timelines intact.
- Maintaining a high level of workmanship by conducting regular quality inspections to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
- Ensuring work is performed in line with health, safety, and welfare obligations as outlined in company policies and procedures.
- Collaborating with the Project Manager and site team on areas such as cost control, waste management, and contract variations.
- Issuing non-conformance reports (NCRs) for any substandard work and ensuring corrective actions are taken.
- Overseeing subcontractors' inspection and test plans (ITPs), ensuring all necessary documentation is reviewed and signed off.
- Preparing snagging lists and managing the process to resolve outstanding issues.
- Ensuring awareness and compliance with current health and safety legislation and Construction (Design and Management) (CDM) regulations, both for themselves and other involved parties.
- Acting as the temporary works coordinator, where relevant.
- Verifying that labour-only subcontractors are properly assessed for their assigned tasks and have the appropriate method statements and risk assessments in place.
Experience
