Our well-established client are currently recruiting due to expansion. If you are looking for an exciting new opportunity to join an independent manufacturing organisation, then this is the role for you!
Mechanical Design Engineer Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design with a focus on mechanism / machinery design
- Using 3D CAD systems
- Robot / manipulator tooling design and development
- Understanding of how to design for different techniques in particular, machining, welding and 3D prototyping
- Experienced within the application of GD&T to BS8888:2020
- Prototyping and testing of tools
- Be able to clearly present technical topics to a range of people
- Problem solving
- Be familiar with the use of New Product Development processes
- Concepting from a clean sheet of paper
- Perform mechanical calculations
- Analysis of support designs
Mechanical Design Engineer Idea Candidate:
- Be experienced in remote handling equipment design, ideally in the Nuclear industry
- Experienced using Autodesk Inventor and Vault
- Be able to produce engineer reports, procedures and requirements
- Good verbal / written communication skills
- Knowledge of project management
- Experienced in design of sheet metal components and assemblies
