Summary of the M&E Project Manager role:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated M&E Project Manager for a School Private Finance Initiative (PFI) project. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the planning, execution, and delivery of school defect and M&E projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
M&E Project Manager Deliverables / Outcomes (include but are not limited to):
- Project Planning & Coordination: Develop and update project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Coordinate with stakeholders, contractors and the operations teams.
- Technical Oversight: Provide technical expertise and guidance throughout the project. Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, engineering standards, good industry practice, and quality control measures.
- Site Management: Manage all identified remedial activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines. Engage with contractors to ensure competence, site safety, works scheduling (during school day and outside school hours). Conduct regular site inspections and address any issues that arise.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, technical drawings, O&Ms, and financial records. Prepare and present regular updates to stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications. Facilitate effective collaboration among project team members and external partners.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications Needed:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in project management within the mechanical and electrical sectors.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent are advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems design, installation, and maintenance.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g. MS Project, Primavera) and CAD tools.
- Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
