Monday - Friday - 0800 - 1700

Our client is looking for a Buyer to join their team, to monitor and maintain good stock levels and identify purchasing needs.

With a responsibility to buy the best quality equipment, goods and services at the most competitive prices to ensure the company operates in the most efficient manner.

Duties - Supply Chain & Purchasing

  • Communicate with suppliers regarding lead times, costs, product information
  • Manage and review supplier price lists
  • Attend supplier meetings
  • Monitor supplier performance
  • Negotiate purchasing terms
  • Maintain relationships with existing suppliers

Duties - Stock Management

  • Create bills of materials
  • Maintain product pricing and correct product information on the system
  • Raise production orders / manage stock transfers and adjustments
  • Forecast and maintain good stock levels of main product lines
  • Create reports to manage low stock levels, slow/fast moving products, out of stock lines
  • Set reasonable re-order levels 

Duties - Internal Team Communication

  • Support the management team in tendering processes 
  • Make the accounts team aware of any new suppliers and agreed terms
  • Provide full advice on costings and availability to the team
  • Communicate any price increases or product changes
  • Share new product information with the sales and marketing team
  • Taking messages and liaising with other team members from other departments
